High-Efficiency Vertical Coalescing Filter Separator

Share:

The High-Efficiency Vertical Coalescing Filter Separator effectively removes liquid droplets, solid particles, and dust from a wide range of industrial gases.

This separator adopts a multi-stage separation principle. In the initial separation stage at the inlet, large liquid droplets, solid particles, and dust are removed by gravity or centrifugal force. Extremely fine liquid droplets, solid particles, and dust are captured by the coalescing filter elements located above.

Working Principle:

When the feed gas contains significant amounts of both liquid and solid particles, a high-efficiency centrifugal tube bundle can be selected for primary separation:

(A) Contaminated gas enters the centrifugal tube bundle tangentially.

(B) Under the action of centrifugal force, entrained solid particles and liquid droplets are forced against the inner wall of the centrifugal tube bundle.

(C) The separated solids and liquids settle along the inner wall and are collected at the bottom of the separator.

(D) The purified gas passes through the central annular section of the tube bundle and exits from the top.

When the feed gas contains only a small amount of solid particles, high-efficiency separation vanes can be selected for primary separation:

(A) Once the gas containing entrained liquid droplets enters the vane passages, it is divided into multiple flow channels. The gas is forced to undergo rapid directional changes multiple times.

(B) Under the effect of centrifugal force, the liquid droplets undergo repeated inertial collisions with the vane surfaces. After adhesion, droplets coalesce into liquid films.

(C) The liquid film, under the combined forces of gravity, surface tension, and gas kinetic energy, is pushed into the vane interlayers, where it merges into streams and drains into the liquid collection trough beneath the vanes.

(D) The result is clean gas, fully purified and free of entrained liquid droplets.

In the final fine-separation stage, the gas and entrained submicron liquid droplets flow from the inside to the outside of the coalescing filter elements. During this process, fine droplets are captured, achieving precision separation. The collected liquid is drained below the coalescing filters.

Key Features & Benefits

The inlet high-efficiency separation vanes or centrifugal tube bundles provide effective protection for the coalescing filters, extending their service life, reducing pressure drop variations, lowering replacement frequency, and minimizing operating and maintenance costs.

The inlet separation vanes or centrifugal tube bundles have no moving parts, are self-cleaning, and require no replacement or cleaning.
